Nylon 66 monofilament yarn with a diameter of 0.22mm is a high-performance, industry-standard material specifically engineered for the production of hook-and-loop tape (most commonly, the hook component).

Products characteristics

 

  • High Tensile Strength & Abrasion Resistance: Withstands repeated engagement and disengagement (cycles) without breaking or wearing down significantly. This is the most critical property for hook longevity.
  • Excellent Fatigue Resistance: The hooks can be flexed millions of times without failing. Nylon 66 has excellent "memory" to return to its shape.
  • Thermoplasticity: Can be precisely softened with heat to form the hook heads and then re-solidify, retaining the new shape permanently.
  • Stiffness (Modulus): The 0.22mm diameter provides the right amount of stiffness. It's rigid enough to engage the loop tape effectively and resist bending under load, yet flexible enough for the cupping process and user-friendly disengagement.
